Abstract

Titanium alloys having a Ti-Al a solid solution matrix consist of .Al.1-7%, preferably 3-7% .B.0.5-2.0% .C.0.1-1.2% .Ti.balance in which the carbon and boron are in the form of a precipitate constituting a dispersed phase within the a solid solution matrix. The alloys may be made by powder metallurgical techniques, non-consumable are melting under inert gas or vacuum consumable arc melting. The alloys may be hot worked and annealed at 850 DEG C. for 4 hours. Specification 822,750 is referred to.
