Abstract
An alloy, having a discontinuous phase of zirconium carbide and no chromium carbide, has the following percentage composition:- .Y.0.05 to 0.2 .Th.0.5 to 0.2 .Mo.0 to 10 .C.0.05 to 0.15 .Zr.(0.1 + 7.6C) to 3 .Cr.the balance A casting of the alloy is worked at 2000-2500 DEG F., as by extrusion or forging, to produce the required microstructure.
