A pneumatic conveying suction nozzle for drawing materials upwards through a pipe 16, Fig. 1, and entraining it into an air jet directed towards the delivery point, the jet orifice is adjustable and includes means for swirling the air. At least one of the tubular parts 12, 14 is threaded for adjustment in a coupling 26 having an annular air chamber 24. The ends of the tubes have opposed bevels 20, 22 to produce an annular jet 18. One of the bevels 22 has helical grooves 30 through which a portion of the air is swirled.
