Abstract

A polyolefin is stabilized with a combination of 2, 6-di-t.Bu-4-Me-phenol (butylated hydroxy toluene) and a 2,21-alkylidene bisphenol or a 4,41- alkylidene bisphenol having the formula <FORM:0978160/C3/1> wherein R is H or C1 to C3 alkyl and R1 is a C4 to C7 tertiary hydrocarbon radical, e.g. t.-butyl or 1-methylcyclohexyl. In the examples the polyolefins are those derived from propylene, 4-Me-pentene-1, 3-Me-butene-1 and 3, 5, 5-tri Me-hexene-1. An organic phosphite such as trilauryl phosphite also may be present.
