A centrifugal friction clutch for clutching an input shaft 9 to a friction wheel 2 which frictionally drives a hand-guided machine such as a motor saw or single axle plough, is formed within the friction wheel 2 itself and comprises spring-retracted acuate shoes 4<SP>1</SP> mounted on a carrier 1, secured to or integral with the motor shaft 9, and expanded centrifugally into frictional engagement with a surface inside the roller 2, which roller is formed from friction material with a metal reinforcing ring 5 pressed or moulded therein and is journalled at 3 on the shoe carrier 1 which supports the shoes 4<SP>1</SP> on guide posts 6 pinned at 7 to the carrier, a flange 10 thereon serving to guide the shoes.
