Abstract

977,192. Beater mills. R. F. BOURNE, and D. G. CHEYNE. Jan. 22, 1963 [March 8, 1962; July 12, 1962], No. 2651/63. Heading B2A. A rotor of a beater mill is provided with symmetrically-arranged blade supports 2 of rectangular section, Figs. 1 and 2, disposed on each side of a rotor element 1. As shown, each support 2 passes through a slot in the element so as to project from each side of the latter. Blades may be mounted on either side of the supports by wedge-clamps (one arrangement of which is shown in Fig. 9) or a pair of bolts which pass through lugs on the blade and elongated holes in the rotor. As shown in Fig. 5, the rotor is star-shaped and blades are adapted to be bolted to supports 8 which are reinforced by plates 10.
