Abstract

1385970 Crushing apparatus HORAI TEKKO SHO CO Ltd 15 Nov 1972 [17 Nov 1971] 52782/72 Heading B2A Crushing apparatus comprises a casing 2 Fig. 3 with an inlet 1, joined to a casing 3. Rotary cutters 8, on a shaft 22 cooperate with a pair of adjustable fixed cutters 6 Fig. 4. Material is discharged at 14 and 15. The shaft 22 is supported in bearings 20, 21 mounted in flanges 16, 17 of the opposite walls of the casings 2, 3. The cutters 8 are successivelyarranged in pairs with three, four and six blades respectively, the blades being helically -disposed out of phase and angled to give a progressive scissor-like shearing action. Size of product is regulated by a single member 38, Fig. 3 or a plurality of such members; Fig. 20 having successively increasing diameters. The members 38 may be formed from segments 38 fixed to a collar 40 by bolts 41, Fig. 12, and control apertures of differing sizes may be used Fig. 15 (not shown). A sieve 44 may be provided in the base of casing 3 and wedged in position as in Fig. 6.
