In electrical switchgear comprising a pair of pivoted movable contacts 24, 25 electrically connected by a fuse 34 whose longitudinal axis is parallel to the pivotal axis of the movable contacts, the movable contacts co-operate with fixed contacts 17 which lie on a line 26 parallel with the pivotal axis. The movable contacts 24, 25 are carried by saddles 42, 43 adjustably mounted on two insulated bars 27 which are pivoted. Actuation of the bars 27 and contacts 24, 25 is effected through a spring toggle mechanism 30, 31. A three-phase change-over contact arrangement is described.
