Abstract

1404579 Switchboards J A CRABTREE & CO Ltd 21 Aug 1972 [17 Nov 1971] 53332/71 Heading H1N A consumer's control unit has circuitbreakers which may be connected to or disconnected from a bus-bar 7 by guided movement towards or away from the bottom of the casing of the unit, the bus-bar being a flat plate mounted at right angles to the bottom of the casing in an insulating frame 3 having guide channels formed between ribs 6a, said channels lying in a plane parallel to the plane of the bus-bar and co-operating with projections 30 on the circuit-breakers, indicated at 31. The frame 3 is L-shaped having a flat base 4, and a limb 6 at right angles to the base 4 which is mounted on threaded bosses 1, 2 in the moulded casing A. A switch housing 5 at one end of the base 4 encloses an operating cam 20 which actuates contact plates 8 through rods 19, the plates 8 pivoting about housing projections 9a in contact with an end of the bus-bar 7 and a neutral terminal plate 15, and co-operating with fixed contacts 13.
