Abstract
976, 297. Top roller loading arms. SPINNEREIMASCHINENBAU KARL-MARX-STADT VEB. Jan. 26, 1962, No. 2989/62. Heading D1D. A top roller carrying and loading arm 1 is clocked in its operative position by a pair of articulated levers 5<SP>11</SP> and 6<SP>11</SP>, one of which is pivoted on the arm at 8 while the other is pivoted on a stationary pivot 7, the lever 5<SP>11</SP> also co-operating with or, as is shown, forming part of an operating lever 4<SP>11</SP> able to be rotated to shift the arm 1 into or out of its operative position,at least one further lever 25<SP>11</SP> pivoted about a stationary pivot 26 being provided to lock the arm in its inoperative position (Fig. 6). As shown the stationary pivots 7 and 26 are on a flange 3 clamped to the supporting bar 2 about which the arm 1 is rotatable, the flange also providing lateral location for the arm. Elongated slots in levers 6<SP>11</SP> and 25<SP>11</SP> serve to limit the movement of the levers in their extreme positions. In further forms the operating lever 4<SP>11</SP> is separate from lever 5<SP>11</SP> but is operatively connected thereto either by an arrangement of stops and slots (see Figs. 1, 3, 11, 15 not shown) or by a further lever (see Fig. 13 not shown). The single retaining lever 25<SP>11</SP> may be replaced by a pair of articulated levers (see Fig. 1 not shown) in which case they are operatively connected to lever 4<SP>11</SP> by means of stops and extensions. In preferred forms the lever 4<SP>11</SP> may be lifted a certain distance from the arm 1 when it is in its operative position without unlocking levers 5<SP>11</SP> and 6<SP>11</SP> so that adjustments at the upper surface of the arm may be made. This is achieved by providing play in the linkage between levers 4<SP>11</SP> and 5<SP>11</SP> (see Figs. 1, 3, 11, 15 not shown) or by providing a manually detachable catch between the two (see Figs. 13 not shown). In forms in which levers 4 and 5 are separate lever 4<SP>11</SP> may rotate about the pivot 8 or may be pivoted on the lever 5<SP>11</SP>. A variety of springs and stops may also be provided to bias the locking levers into and hold them in their locking positions.
