Abstract
975,761. Packaging. EDNALITE CORPORATION. Aug. 9, 1961, No. 28727/61. Heading B8C. Articles, such as photographic filter holders are packaged by folding a cardboard blank 10 around the article so that the article can be fitted on a camera without completely removing the blank, the blank having an opening 26 through which annular parts 31 and 35 of the filter holder are threadably engaged. Annular parts 31 and 35 of the filter holder 30 are joined through the opening 26 in panel 11 of the blank 10 to form wall 11a. Panels 15, 12, 20 and 23 are bent to form walls 15a, 12a, 20a and 23a respectively with tabs 24 lying between the article and the wall 12a. The package is closed either by a flap 16 passing through a slit 28 under the panel 20 and through a slot 27 to form a hanger tab 16a (Fig. 4) or by the flap 16 passing over the wall 20a, through the slot 27 and lying between the tab 24a and the wall 12a (Fig. 5). The wall 12 preferably has a scale 39 printed on it while the panel 15 and tab 24 have indicia identifying the filter holder. An alternative blank (Fig. 16, not shown) can be provided with front and back walls (Fig. 8, not shown) covering the filter holder.
