Apparatus for bending steel mesh comprising a support for the mesh and a bending member pivotable about an axis parallel to the edge of the support, the support or the bending membel carrying bending dies, spaced to conform to the spacing of the rods of the mesh, aligned with the axis of rotation of the bending member and provided with lateral recesses to receive the rods of the mesh is characterized in that the dies are adjustable in the direction of the aligning axis to compensate for variations in the rod spacing. Steel mesh, to be bent, is laid on supporting beam 2 and over a bending beam 3 with the rods 8 of the mesh resting against legs 6 and under cylindrical die portions 7 of bending dies 5. The dies 5 are carried by plates 4, 4a, 4b, adjustable by screw-and-slot means 10, 11 along the support 2. The rods 8, and thus the mesh, are bent by turning the bending beam 3 about the axis of die portions 7. The plates 4, 4a, 4b carrying the dies may be mounted on the beam 3.
