Abstract
980,964. Bending steel mesh. BAUSTAHLGEWEBE G.m.b.H. Nov. 6, 1962 [Nov. 6, 1961], No. 41896/62. Addition to 918,214. Heading B3E. Apparatus for bending steel mesh includes a plurality of bending units each comprising a support beam for the mesh and a bending beam, one of the beams having a row of dies thereon each formed with a lateral recess to receive a rod of the mesh to be bent, the units being aligned and operated simultaneously to bend a mesh wider than an individual unit. Each unit comprises a support beam Z and a bending beam 4 to which L-shaped bending dies 5 are secured. Alternatively the dies 5 may be mounted on the beam Z. The units are connected by tumbuckles 7 adjustable to move the units along rails 6 to vary the distance between end dies 5<SP>1</SP> and 5<SP>11</SP>. The bending beams 4 are rotated by electric or hydraulic motors 10 controlled by a single switch 11.
