975,013. Mixing solid and liquid fuel before delivery. YAWATA SEITETSU KABUSHIKI KAISHA. March 15, 1963 [March 17, 1962], No. 10462/63. Heading F4B. A mixture of fuel oil and pulverized fuel in a tank 1 is agitated by compressed air or nitrogen fed to the bottom of the tank by an eccentric pipe 4 and the mixture is heated by a steam coil 13 in the tank. The pressure built up in the tank by the air or nitrogen forces the mixed fuel along a pipe 7 including valves 8, 8<SP>1</SP>, 8<SP>11</SP>to burners in the tuyeres of a blast furnace. Further air or nitrogen is supplied to the top of the tank through a pipe and a valve 6<SP>1</SP>. The tank is filled initially by a pipe 2 having a valve 3. When the tank is empty the lower part of the fuel pipe 7 may be cleaned by compressed air or nitrogen supplied through a valve 11, and the burners are cleaned by steam supplied through a valve 12.
