Abstract

974,736. Ironing presses. LEEDS CHEMICAL CLEANING WORKS Ltd. March 30, 1961 [Jan. 1, 1960], No. 49/60. Heading D1A. A garment-pressing machine arranged as a self-contained unit comprises a base 1 on which are mounted a stationary lower pressing buck 2, an upper pressing buck 3, or a hand-operated steam pressing iron (not shown), attached to a pivoted carrier arm 4, a steam generating boiler 5, a feed-water tank 9, a feed-water pump 16 driven by a motor 17, a vacuum pump 20, and a control panel (Fig. 2, not shown) 21 for controlling steam, water, and vacuum. As shown in Fig. 5, a garment "spotting gun" 22 may be connected to the buck 2, and a drain pipe 27 is provided for venting and "blow-down" of the boiler through valves 7, 6, respectively.
