Abstract

974,594. Load handling pallets. PRESSED STEEL CO. Ltd. Sept. 5, 1963, No. 35090/63. Heading B8H. A pallet, Fig. 1, is adapted for the carriage of loads in the form of panels, particularly curved motor vehicle panels, by the provision of retractible panel-supporting arms 18. Such arms are mounted on each of the arm supports 17 and on each support the arms are movable between the inwardly projecting panel-supporting position of Fig. 2 and a retracted position parallel to the side members 14 and 16 of the pallet. Pins 24 on the supports and co-operating slots 22, 23 in the arms allow each arm to be locked in either position. All but the lowermost arms carry spring-loaded panel-engaging pads 27 to bear on panels 26 supported by the arm below, and the whole assembly of arms on each support 17 can be operated, by a lever 33, to clamp such panels between the arms.
