A long load 21, Fig. 4, is handled by attaching to each end, with cables 23 and turnbuckles 23a, wheeled cradles 22 provided with vertically slidable load.bearing flanges 10a. The latter are moved up and down vertical guides by a manually-operated ram 13, Fig. 3. The wheels 2 are held parallel to one another by a crosslink and may either be steered by a handle 8 or locked perpendicular to the lifting flange. Abutments 18 engage the ends of the load and are universally mounted to accommodate irregular loads.
