Abstract

972,040. Lamp holders. LITEMASTER PRODUCTS (PROPRIETARY) Ltd. March 27, 1963 [June 12, 1962], No. 12028/63. Heading H2E. [Also in Division B3] A spring-pressed contact pin 36, for use in a bayonet lamp holder, is slidably secured in a metal terminal sleeve 34 by inserting the pin 36 and a spring 38 into the open end of sleeve 34, which is initially grooved at 42, Fig. 2, and then deforming the part of sleeve 34 between groove 42 and its end so that it collapses, forming a tubular portion which fits closely around the pin 36 to provide good electrical contact and also a stop shoulder for co-operation with a collar 40 on pin 36. The contact pin 36 and sleeve 34 are preferably made of brass. The apparatus used to deform the sleeve end comprises a punch 12 and anvil 14 (see Division B3).
