971,253. Children's seats. A. H. MOTTEZ. Sept. 23, 1963 [Sept. 26, 1962], No. 37327/63. Heading A4J. [Also in Division A3] A child's removable and adjustable seat for use in motor vehicles comprises a seat provided with a back 2 and with a safety belt 3 the front part of the seat being fixed on two posts 5, 6 of variable height each fixed in a rigid manner to a base plate 15 or 16 adapted to be detachably fixed to the floor of the vehicle in front of and at a predetermined distance from an adult's seat. The seat may be of sufficient width to accommodate two children. The posts 5, 6 are connected by a cross strut comprising two horizontal portions 20a, 20b at different levels serving as foot rests for children of different sizes sitting side by side. If the seat is for a single child a straight cross strut may be provided. The posts 5, 6 are telescopically adjustable in sleeves 7, 8 and clamped in adjusted position by a bolt 13 and wing nut 14.
