Abstract

1,009,546. Infants' seats. E. A. I. JOHANSSON. Oct. 23, 1962 [Nov. 9, 1961], No. 40050/62. Heading A4J. [Also in Division A3] A children's chair for use in motor-cars has a back part which is adapted to be placed against the front of a car seat back 23 and connected by flexible straps 25 to the vehicle, a U-shaped yoke 26 being pivotally connected at 27 to the chair and links 29, 30 forming elbow joints being provided between the back portion of the chair and the yoke 26 to maintain the chair in a forwardly and upwardly swung position relatively to the seat back 23. A back rest 16 and head rest 17 are mounted on tubular frame members 7, 8 which are vertically adjustable with respect to the seat supporting frame members 1, 2 by passing bolts 14 through selected holes in the members 1, 2 and in extensions 12, 13 of the frame members 7, 8. The head rest has two forwardly projecting side portions provided with foamed plastic sleeves 22 and padded material 17 for protecting a child's head.
