971,215. Fold-away grilling devices. P. PITT. May 3, 1962 [May 4, 1961], No. 16223/61. Heading A4D. [Also in Division F4] A fold-away grilling device has a front flap or door 11 which when swung down into a horizontal position also lowers an interlinked frame 5 which encloses heating means, e.g. gas or other fuel burners, and the flap 11 then serves as a support for a grilling pan. A two-armed toggle 15, 16 having its mid-pivot connected by an operating lever 17 pivoted at 18 to the side-walls of the enclosure for the device interconnects the heater frame 5 and flap 11 which are caused to close together when stowed away. One of the pivot supports 8 for the heater frame may be hollow to serve as a passage for burner fuel to the heating means. The front flap 11 carries L-brackets 12 pivoted at 13 to the enclosure, the walls flap and lid 4 of which may be wood or hardboard lined internally with asbestos and sheet metal, e.g. aluminium. In confined spaces e.g. in a caravan, boat or vehicle, the device is secured to a wall or door.
