A hand torch having a casing 1 of insulating material has a head portion 2 also of insulating material pivoted thereto by two diametrically opposite conducting pivot members 10, 11, the member 10 being connected by a conducting member 13 to the reflector 3 which is housed in the head 2 and by a conducting member 14 which extends into the casing to make contact with one terminal of a battery 12 contained therein and the member 11 being connected to a conducting member 15 which makes contact with a terminal of the electric bulb 6 mounted in the reflector and to a conducting member 16 extending into the casing to make contact with one terminal of a switch 18, the other terminal of which is connected by a conducting member 17 to the other terminal of the battery 12. The bulb 6 is held in a tubular member 7 having a metal rim in contact with the reflector, the member 7 being carried in a bushing 5.
