[Also in Division G4] A device for indicating shooting results during target practice comprises a target board 1 having a transducer 5 (in an air-tight casing) attached to it at one corner so as to respond only to shock (sound) waves, due to a hit on the target and transmitted through the board 1, the transducer output signals being recorded at R. Transducer 5 comprises an apertured diaphragm 11 and electromagnets 19, 20, Fig. 3, and is mounted on the edge of the target board 1 by a screw 9 as shown in Fig. 2, and is protected from direct hits by an armour plate 27. The target board 1 is suspended from a frame 3 by rubber cloths 2 and is provided with a layer 26 of damping material, e.g. felt or polyurethane. In another embodiment (Fig. 4, not shown) the target is built up of four co-planar spaced plates connected together by rubber cloths and each provided with a transducer. Alternatively, the target may consist of two (or more) boards, one behind another, as in Fig. 6, where the front board 30 is provided with an aperture 32 and each board 31, 30 carries a transducer 5. A " tank " target board is shown in Fig. 7 having three transducers 36, 37, 38 so arranged that the sequence of signals from the transducers will indicate the position of the hit.
