Abstract

969,557. Moulding packages. M. L. SHELLY & PARTNERS Ltd. March 14, 1963 [April 19, 1962], No. 15177/62. Heading B5A. [Also in Division B8] In a method of packaging, a sheet of thermoplastic material is heated and stretchdeformed to form cavities into which the articles to be packaged are placed. A sheet 10 of thermoplastic material is placed between a heater hood 1 and a mould 5 and clamped by frames 3, 4 to form an airtight seal. The sheet is softened by the heater hood and compressed air is applied through a conduit 2 while suction is applied through a conduit 9 resulting in the softened material being drawn into the cavities. The material is allowed to cool before removing from the frames 3, 4.
