Abstract

1343304 Sheet forming D J MOUNTENEY and A FITZGEORGE 9 June 1972 [12 March 1971] 6752/71 Heading B5A A vacuum forming machine comprises a chamber 5, a clamp 6 adapted to engage in an air-tight manner the marginal portion of a sheet 7, and a fan 9 to circulate air within the chamber which has been heated by elements 8. A connection 11 allows air to be exhausted from the chamber during an initial forming stage to draw the sheet into the chamber. The shaping is completed by a vacuum mould 3. Restrictor bars 13, Fig. 4, not shown, can be placed across the opening of the chamber 5.
