Abstract

968,165. Valves. CRANE CO. Feb. 5, 1963, No. 4647/63. Heading F2V. A rotary-spherical closure member 6, Fig. 1, is disposed in a body comprised of a ring 2 and port elements 3, 4 held together by clamp segments 13, 14, Fig. 2, interconnected by bolts 39. The operating stem 9 is journalled in an extension 11 of the ring 2. 0-rings 28, 29, Fig. 1, are disposed between the ring 2 and elements 3, 4 whilst the latter embody inclined surfaces 33, 33 which co-operate with corresponding surfaces 35, 36 and 37, 38 on the segments 13, 14. Flanges 31, 32 on the elements 3, 4 overlie the inner surface of the ring 2. Seat rings 45, 46 are provided in the element 3, 4 each ring being loaded by a tapered spring washer 52 or 53. Stops not shown may be employed to limit valve movement.
