[Also in Division B8] In a method of forming a metal drum 10 the head 11 is formed from a flanged blank of square or rectangular contour which is pressed or stamped and has an aperture punched therein and an outlet fitted in the aperture by searing, welding or soldering and then part of the head blank between the aperture and flange is rendered conical, as at 12, by spinning. The bottom of the drum may have a conical recess spun therein to facilitate stacking.
