Abstract

965,046. Tables combined with cabinets; furniture joints. J. B. OLIVER. Oct. 5, 1962 [Aug. 24, 1962], No. 32581/62. Headings A4H and A4W. A table having a top 1, legs 2 and parallel bearer rails 3 secured to its underside is combined with one or more detachable cupboard, drawer or like units D suspended from the rails 3, the unit D being engageable with the rails by horizontal movement relative thereto to be thereafter locked against such movement. The rear tubular rail 3 is provided with sockets 8 which accommodate spigots 11 projecting horizontally from brackets 10 secured to the rear wall 9 of the detachable drawer unit D. Vertical bolts 13 are received ir threaded holes provided in lugs 12 securec to the front rail 3, the arrangement being such that the shank of the bolt 13 is received in a groove 15a in a cross rail 15 on the unit D and that, on tightening the bolt 13, the cross rail 15 is clamped be tween the bearer rail 3 and the bolt heac 14. Spigot and socket connections may be used at both front and rear, the rear spigot extending through the rear rail 3 and re ceiving a lock nut on its threaded end Specification 965,045 is referred to.
