Abstract

964,665. Etching. SIEMENS & HALSKE A.G. July 10, 1963, No. 27270/63. Drawings to Specification. Heading B6J. An etching liquid for etching copper, containing cupric chloride, hydrochloric acid and ammonium chloride is regenerated by passing compressed air through it in a vessel separate from the etching vessel. The liquid is circulated between the two vessels continuously or at intervals. From time to time, part of the etching liquid, which contains excess copper and insufficient hydrochloric acid and ammonium chloride as a result of the etching reaction, is withdrawn from circulation and replaced by a solution of hydrochloric acid and ammonium chloride.
