[Also in Division F2] Closure securing means for a pressure cooker comprises edge segments 14, 16 respectively projecting outwardly from the edge of the pot 10 and inwardly from the edge of the lid 12 for the purpose of engaging above one another as a bayonet closure to lock the lid, and a sealing ring 20 arranged horizontally between the pot and the lid and pressed by steam pressure against the pot and wall of the lid, the ring in the incompletely locked position being lifted at a part of the periphery thereof away from the opposite co-operating sealing surfaces 26, 28 by a leaf spring 32 arranged in the lid and connected to the ring, e.g. by a pin 46 engaging in a hole in the ring, so as to entrain the ring as the lid moves into the locking position. As shown, the spring is contacted by a segment 14 of the lid as the latter is rotated. In modifications, (a) the spring has two limbs and is not secured to the lid, and (b) the pin 51, Fig. 4, is disposed radially of the sealing ring.
