In a pressure vessel, e.g. autoclave, the rim 4 of the door of the pressure vessel is provided with peripherally-spaced inwardly-projecting flanges 6a which are engaged bayonet-fashion with peripherally-spaced outwardly-projecting lugs 5a on a rim 2 of the vessel, a sealing ring 7 being provided in a groove in the vessel rim radially outwards of the lugs and flanges.
