1,144,404. Indicating locking of pressure cooker. A. JORDAN [trading as A. JORDAN ALUMINIUM-UND METALLWARENFABRIK]. 6 Feb., 1967 [10 Feb., 1966], No. 5628/67. Heading B1X. A steam pressure cooker has means for indicating secure locking together of the bayonet joint on the pot 5 and lid 3, the indicating means comprising rod 9 loaded with spring 12 and arranged to be displaced against its spring-loading, for example by dog 6 on the bent-over rim of the pot, during the locking movement of the pot and lid so as to project in a visually and/or manually detectable manner at 13. The other end of the spring bears on a pin 10 which when the lid is rotated to open the cooker slides off the end 11 of the dog 6 and serves to press the rubber sealing element (4) off the edge of the lid to allow air to enter the pot.
