Abstract
1,183,007. Pressure cookers. SAMBONET S.p.A. 8 April, 1968 [14 April, 1967], No. 16866/68. Heading B1X. A pressure vessel 1 having an oval opening associated with an oval lid 2 attached by stirrup piece 4 to cross-beam 6 and lever 12, 13 is closed by introducing the lid into the opening (Fig. 1) and turning it so that its edge is in a position corresponding to the oval opening of the vessel and then operating the lever, with the cross-beam resting on the outer surface of the vessel (Fig. 2), so that the lid is raised and pressed against a gasket 3 around the lower edge of the opening of the vessel. Between the cross-beam and the lid is a leafspring 7 which presses on rubber plugs 8, 9, mounted on circular bores 10, 11 in the lid, the plugs acting as vent valves for steam. The deformation of the lid, due to internal pressure, alters the position of lever 12 which thus acts as a pressure-signal.
