963,933. Packaging-machines; endless conveyers. OTTO HANSEL Jun. G.m.b.H. June 15, 1962, No. 23038/62. Headings B8A and B8C. Chocolate bars 1 are fed to the folding box 9 of a wrapping machine by means of an endless conveyer 2, 2<SP>1</SP>, the conveyer members 2<SP>1</SP> extending as shown in Fig. 2 to form a feed grating so that the bars 1 may be lifted from the grating by a reciprocating member 12 from which they are transferred to a second grating 10 by a pusher 24. As the leading bar 1 reaches the grating 2<SP>1</SP>, it operates a switch 27 to release a detent 31 enabling a spring-urged member 13 to rise in contact with the groove of a cam disc 17. Lateral movement of the member 12 is effected by a crank 21. As the member 12 is withdrawn, a folding member 6 moves upwards to force the bar 1 and its wrapping paper through the box 9. The machine operates continuously so long as further bars 1 are fed forward, but the detent 31 automatically halts it if no feed takes place.
