Abstract

1,118,159. Feeding sheets. LEIPZIGER BUCHBINDEREIMASCHINENWERKE VEB. 15 Nov., 1965, No. 48306/65. Heading B6B. Superposed booklets etc., 11, 12 being fed to a trimming station 6 by endless bands 1, 2 are aligned by a rising and falling front stop 5, an intermittently-moved rear abutment 8 being provided which does not engage the booklets until they abut the stop 5 at which position it stops and prevents rebound of the booklets. When the stop 5 is withdrawn, the abutment 8 may act as a pusher to move the booklets to the trimming station or gripper members may be provided for this purpose. As shown, two rear abutments 8, 9 are carried by an endless chain 7 driven intermittently by gearing 10. The required stopping position of the rear abutments may be obtained by displacing them on the chain 7 or by adjusting the gear 10. A guide roller 3 for the belt 2 is also adjusted according to the width of the booklets. The chain 7 may be situated above the path of the booklets so that the abutments 8, 9 project downwardly when in operative position.
