Abstract
963,516. Rack stands. HALL & GOULDING Ltd. July 1, 1963 [June 29, 1962], No. 25056/62. Heading A4H. A rack is formed by wire trays 1 stacked vertically by means of wire supports 2 each of which has a frame bent to hairpin shape, the limbs 5 being bent to form a hook 6 at the lower end, splayed at the upper end, bent outwardly at 7 and, provided with a shoulder forming wire 8 welded to the limbs. A hook 10 is formed at the upper end and engages over the rim 15 of the tray at the corner so that the tray is engaged between the hook 10 and shoulder 8. The mouths of hooks 6 engage kinked cross bars 9 of the hooks 10 of the supports beneath. The lowermost tray is supported by a base 3 comprising feet 12 joined by stiff wires 13 welded together where they cross and having cross bars 14 above the feet 12 which are engaged by the hooks 6 of the supports 2 of the tray. Feet 12 may be replaced by castors. In a modification the hooks 6 engage the rims of the trays or cross bars fixed at the corner of the trays. In another modification Fig. 5 the trays are supported by end frames having a hook 10a, shoulder 8a and lower hook 6a. The wires may be replaced by plastic rods and the trays may be of wood plastic or sheet metal.
