963,445. Gear pumps. G. DUSTERLOH FABRIK FUR BERGWERKSBEDARF G.m.b.H. Sept. 27, 1961 [Oct. 3, 1960], No. 34647/61. Heading F1F. A gear pump has the inside of the wall of the gear casing surrounding the gear wheels spaced at 8 from the tips of the teeth of the gear wheels over the major part of their periphery and resting against the tips of the teeth only over a zone covering two or three teeth of each gear wheel adjacent the pressure side of the pump. A counter force to that exerted on the shafts 4, 5 of the gear-wheels by the working fluid is preferably applied through ducts 12, 13 from the pressure side of the pump, which open into pressure chambers 14, 15 respectively and are sealed by rings 18, 19 respectively. End bushes (Fig. 2 not shown) are pressed against bearing bushes of the shafts 4, 5 by pressure medium drawn off from the pressure side of the pump and applied to the outer surfaces of the end bushes.
