Abstract

962,780. Deaf aids. H. WULLSTEIN. Feb. 1, 1963, No. 4160/63. Heading H4J. In a deaf aid in which the amplifier is located behind the ear the microphone is located in the external auditory mealus, i.e. the passage leading from the aurile to the ear drum. Fig. 1 shows a section of an ear showing the ear drum 2 and the microphone 6 located in the meatus 3, the microphone being carried in an ear fitting 5 which is shaped to fit the individual meatus. The amplifier is carried behind the ear and the receiver may be located with the amplifier and connected with the ear by means of a plastic tube 7 leading past the microphone through the ear fitting 5 or alternatively, Fig. 3 (not shown), the receiver may be located in the ear fitting on the side of the fitting remote from the microphone and adjacent the ear drum.
