Abstract

1,111,748. Hearing aids. BELTONE ELECTRONICS CORPORATION. 14 July, 1966 [15 July, 1965], No. 31727/66. Heading H4J. A hearing aid assembly comprises two separate parts 10, 26 (Fig. 3), one being an ear mould 26 individually adapted for the wearer's ear and the other one being a hearing aid 10 adapted for inserting into the ear mould 26 so that its outer surface is aligned with the outer surface of the ear mould 26. The hearing aid 10 comprises an external portion 12 encasing a microphone (16), Figs. 1, 2 (not shown) an amplifier (18) and battery (20), and an internal portion 14 encasing a receiver (not shown). A microphone opening 32 is provided. Interconnecting wires extend through a flexible tube 22. In use, the tube 22 passes through an aperture 30 in the ear mould 26 and the internal portion 14 resides in the ear canal (Fig. 4). A flange member 24 abuts the ear canal, sealing the external portion 12 from acoustical feedback from the receiver.
