962,348. Waveguide couplings. DECCA Ltd. June 19, 1962 [May 19, 1961], No. 18431/61 Heading H1W. The inner section 12 of a telescopic waveguide joint is provided with choke grooves 15, 16. The sections 10, 12 are relatively slidable upon thin dielectric elements 14. The inner section 12 may take the form of a tapered transistion between a relatively small H 01 waveguide 11 and a larger H 10 waveguide 10 as described in Specification 905,689. If the wall thickness of the inner section is insufficient to accommodate quarter-wavelength grooves near its end, shallow grooves 15 may be formed near the end and deeper grooves 16 further back. 962,369. [Also in Division H2] A resistor 10, comprising a core 12 of a flexible insulating material, such as a cord of cotton glass or plastics fibres, and a helicallywound resistance wire 14, has terminals 16, 18 wrapped around and enclosing the ends of the core 12 and wire 14.
