962,275. Loom picking mechanisms. HUYCK CORPORATION. Nov. 27, 1961 [Dec. 6, 1960], No. 42289/61. Heading D1E. A loom with drop boxes at both ends and a dobby 12 has its picking sticks 25, 26, actuatedpneumatically by cylinders 61. In Fig. 2 a dobbyoperated lever 160 operates either valve 142 or 143. If valve 142 is operated air is admitted to a valve 108 so that a cam 120 on the mainshaft may open a valve to operate the left hand of two valves 81. The operation of this valve 81 allows air from a supply 62 to pass through storage chamber 63 of lubricator 75, to operate the associated cylinder 61 for as long as the cam 120 opens valve 108. If lever 160 operates valve 143 the other cylinder 61 will pick. In Fig. 4 valves 211, corresponding to the valves 81, are operated by solenoids and an electrical circuit is described. The duration of opening of valves 108 is adjustable.
