Abstract

962,179. Box pallets. RUBERY, OWEN & CO. Ltd. April 2, 1963 [April 5, 1962], No. 13098/62. Headings B8H and B8P. The vertical walls of a box pallet or like container are made from sheet metal pressings joined by welding, each separate pressing providing either (a) portions of each of two adjacent walls or (b) one complete wall and portions of both its adjacent walls. The pallet of Fig. 1 comprises four pressings each providing half of one side wall and half of one end wall; these are overlapped and welded together down the vertical centre line 8-8 of each wall. The four walled unit so formed is welded to a base (not shown) and to corner supports 29, also formed as metal pressings. The top corners all carry further pressings 33, welded to the box wall structure, for receiving the base supports 29 of a superimposed pallet. The walls preferably have corrugations 17 or dimples 35, Fig. 11 (not shown).
