Abstract

The invention comprises the compound of formula: <FORM:0961907/C1/1> its acid addition salts and its preparation by condensing 3, 4-dimethyl-5-aminopyrazole with an a -dialkoxymethylpropionitrile (which can be prepared by reducing the acrylonitrile) or with an a -alkoxymethylenepropionitrile (prepared by heating the dialkoxy compound with an acidic catalyst). Pharmaceutical preparations containing the compound I and its salts are mentioned for enteral and parenteral application using solid (tablets, dragees, capsules) or liquid (solutions, emulsions) carriers. The compound has antipyretic, analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. Specification 788,140 is referred to.
