Abstract
960,245. Magnetron amplifiers. MIWAG MIKROWELLEN A.G. June 14, 1960 [June 16, 1959], No. 20808/60. Heading H1D. A magnetron amplifier valve consists of a ring of resonant cavities 4 surrounded by a waveguide 2, the resonant cavities being coupled to the waveguide by waveguide slots 3 and the waveguide being interrupted by a metallic vane 6 to provide waveguide connections 7, 7<SP>1</SP> to the input and output waveguides 8, 8<SP>1</SP>. The resonator ring is interrupted by a solid electrode 13 with adjacent de-tuned resonators 14. The electrode 13 may be separately energized or replaced by a separately energized resonant cavity whereby the operation of the tube may be controlled. The waveguide 2 may comprise one or more helical turns. The waveguide slots 3 may be inclined at a small angle to the radius or curved.
