Abstract

957,209. Lamp caps and holders. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd; March 16, 1962 [March 28, 1961], No. 11335/61. Heading H2E. A ventilated holder for an electric lamp consists of a body with two axially spaced barriers 3, 4, through which extend contacts 5, the body having apertures 6 to allow cooling air to pass. As shown, the top carrier 4 is removable and is held in place by projections 8 on the top cap 7. The contacts may be spring- loaded plungers or may be in the form of L- shaped leaf springs, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown), the horizontal parts of which lie in grooves 14 separated by a wall 15 in the barrier 3, and creepage prevention barriers 16 may be included on the inner faces of both barriers 3 and 4. The holder may be constructed to receive bayonet or screw-threaded lamp caps.
