956,379. Refrigerators. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS-G.m.b.H. Jan. 16, 1961, No. 1779/61. Heading F4H. In a refrigerator cabinet having walls constructed of synthetic plastic sheets enclosing therebetween an insulating layer of synthetic plastic foam, the material of which the sheets are constructed is a polystyrene copolymerisation product, the insulating material consisting of a plastic foamed material based on polyurethane, the pores of which are wholly or partly filled with an insulating gas. The polystyrene copolymerisation product may contain butadiene, preferably between 10 and 20%, or vinyl compounds such as acrylonitrile or PVG/polyvinyl acetate, while the foamed layer based on polyurethane may be a known combination based on isocyanates and polyethers and/or polyesters containing hydroxyl groups. The gaseous filling medium may be a fluorochloromethane compound. The walls may be provided with fillers and pigments as required.
