Abstract
1,257,385. Polyurethane foams. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER A.G. 25 March, 1969 [25 March, 1968], No. 15449/69. Headings C3C and C3R. Polyurethane foams are prepared by reacting a polyhydroxyl compound of M.W. above 500, a polyisocyanate and a blowing agent in the presence of a foam stabilizer and 0À01 to 5% based on the polyhydroxyl compound of at least one N-alkyl-, N-alkenyl-, N-cycloalkyl-, N-cycloalkenyl-, or N-aralkyl-hexahydrotriazine. Conventional polyhydroxyl compounds, e.g. polyethers and polyesters, polyisocyanates and blowing agents are used. The foam stabilizer may be a conventional silicon containing compound or a stabilizer according to Specification 1,252,647. Particularly preferred hexahydrotriazines are tri-(2-alkoxyalkyl)hexahydrotriazines such as tri-(2-methoxy ethyl)-, tri- (2-ethoxy ethyl) or tri-(2-methoxy propyl)- hexahydrotriazine. Uses.-As thermal insulating agents, sound insulators, packaging material and in the furniture industry.
