Abstract

997,004. Laminates. DOW CHEMICAL CO. July 4, 1962 [July 12, 1961 (2)], No. 25610/62. Heading B5N. [Also in Divisions F4] A thermally-insulated enclosure is formed of panels of foamed plastic material having grooved edges, the panels being joined in edgeto-edge relationship by plastic splines disposed in abutting grooves. The panels may consist of foamed polystyrene, polyvinyl chloride or phenol formaldehyde and may be faced with plywood, wood veneer, fibre glass, epoxy resin compositions or metal. The splines are composed of expanded polystyrene, polyethylene or polyurethane and are preferably wrapped in a polyethylene film.
