A folder for filing documents has a side wall 61, Fig. 1, having perforations 62 and is adjustably secured between a pocket formed by side walls 63 and 64 by fastening members 65, 66, Fig. 3, such that by varying the insertion of the wall 61 in the pocket the effective width of the base is varied. In another embodiment, the base is formed by parts 15a, 15b, Fig. 6, slidably arranged and secured in adjusted position by rails 16a, 16b and stud fastenings 17. A holder, file cover, or folder, Fig. 10, has a flexible back 205 of adjustable width attached to a cover 201 which is inserted between cover 202 and panel 203. The back 205 has three holes 206 through which studs 207, Fig. 12, engage sockets 208 on portions 209, Fig. 10, formed by incisions of the panel 203. A strip 210, inserted between panel 203 and back 205 has a flexible piece of material, connecting a plate 213 resting on top of the folder contents and held in place by cords 214 which act as hoops, Fig. 11 (not shown), when it is required to turn the contents of the folder over page by page. The plate 213 can be detached from the cords 214 and replaced by removing the cords from retaining hooks 215, Fig. 13 (not shown), and holes 217.
