Unit apparatus comprises a casing 1 of rectangular cross-section, a blower 3 having a rectangular discharge aperture 5 and a heat exchanger 2 adjacent to and having, in crosssection, the same area and shape as the aperture 5. The casing is provided with a louvred outlet 5a downstream of the heat exchanger 2. The latter may be adapted for heating and/or cooling (which may effect de-humidification) and may be supplied with a refrigerant from a compressor; a dust filter may be provided at the blower inlet 4. The tubes of the heat exchanger are finned, tubes and fins being of aerofoil cross-section (Fig. 5), and a trough 6 is positioned beneath the heat exchanger to collect condensate therefrom. A plurality of blowers may be mounted in series along a common axis.
